Here are a few....
Family Time:
Christmas tree shopping. The boys loved running through all the trees...they loved the candy canes they got to eat even more!:)
This pic is one of my favorites bc Landon was literally saying "cheese" as chet took the picture. It cracks me up! And now every time he sees a camera he says "cheese!"
Chet and I participated in another race in Dec too. It was the Festival of Lights 5k that takes place in San Marco here in Jacksonville. We have run the race before but never with a big stroller and 2 toddlers in tow. I made Chet push the boys so I could actually try to make decent time....not so much luck. They asked the stroller-pushing people to start out in the back of the start line....well the problem with that is that then you have walkers in front of you and have to weave around of the slow-pokes for the first mile and a half! I shouldn't be annoyed....it was meant to be fun family time spent together but I felt the need to run but just couldn't get around all the people! So i finally gave up and just enjoyed to luminaries and the holiday spirit around me:)
The boys love helping me cook! I love that they love to! This was a wonderful event bc the boys got their first batter tasting experience. They loved the mixers...they even double-dipped them back into the batter to get even more yummy goodness. :)
Oh there is nothing cuter than two little diaper boys. I enjoy letting the boys be "free" of clothes whenever I can! I just think they are the cutest when they are running around with diaper only....their little legs, their adorable round bellies, their shoulders (which appear to have more definition than mine!), and their arms flailing about. Nothing cuter:) Here they are convinced that they can both fit into this basket together!
Christmas Eve:
We are about to head to Christmas Eve service at church but the boys are able to convince Grandpa to read them a story before we leave.
Checking out their new stockings at Papa and Mimsi's house.
A favorite of mine! Me and my mom with the boys. (i think Katie may have taken 20 shots to get this one good one! haha!)
Christmas Morning!:
I think this might have been one of my favorite things the boys got for Christmas. I'm not quite sure why...but maybe it was because they have gotten to the age where they can have a craft table. (I can't wait to do crafts with them! Right now they eat everything I give them to work with...play dough, crayons, paint, bubbles...so I am waiting a while now.) I'm thinking we might do pudding art soon. :) Fun...and edible!
I thought this was a funny pic. "A digger...something I always wanted."
The gift for the boys that was opened by the tree was a BASKETBALL HOOP! I literally cried tears when they walked out the the living room and saw the hoop and immediately started shooting the balls. My heart was seriously on joy overload in that moment!!! (I am tearing up again as I write this...what a sap!) Oh, the little moments in life sometimes mean so much. It's a month later and they still wake up in the morning say "hoop" or "shoot the ball." The first several-word phrase I heard from either of the boys was from Landon a few days after Christmas....he said "shoot the ball, mama!" Again, my heart was filled with joy seeing my baby enjoying himself so much and wanting me to join in with him. I gladly "shoot the ball" whenever I can. :)
Marshall and Landon got backpacks from G & G and I thought this was a cute pic.
After opening gift the P & M's house we had a special visitor....Santa! (well, actually Mr. Eyrick) Don't think the boys knew quite what to think.
Here they are checking out their new work bench from P & M. The favorite tool...the hammer. Of course, the most dangerous thing. I am convinced there are some things that are just God-given, built-into-boys tendencies that I will have to just go with. :)
Hanging out the Molly at her new table! A few minutes later they were enjoy a tea party with Molly....including petit fours, of course. (all fisher price...non-edible:))
New Years Eve:
We concluded our year with a party with some wonderful friends! We had a party that included yummy food, football, a couple games, and ended with some of our dearest friends (the Buckinghams & the Savants) just hanging out, more games, watching some awful concert specials, and Champagne at midnight. It was such a wonderful time with all of them. :) oh, yeah, and we did break out some dancing to Michael Jackson songs later on in the night, too. Fun times! :)
